Peter Pan and The Seniors' Parties Explosion!

What do Peter Pan and Seniors have in common? A child who does not want to grow up and grown-ups who are returning to the best part of their childhood--Fun! Music! Dancing! The following are a few recent events our bands have played:

Bay Society played for Svend and Suzanne's 50th Anniversary at the Claremont Country Club, last week.  They said, "no one will dance," but the band played one hour overtime because the guests were dancing to everything from "In the Mood," to The Beach Boys' "Fun, Fun, Fun"--even "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" and did not want to stop! www.mariannekent.com/music-baysociety.htm.

Marianne and The Vinnie Chazi Trio performed for the 30th Wedding Anniversary of Senator Dianne Feinstein and Richard Blum in January, 2010 at the Fairmont Penthouse. I wrote special lyrics for the occasion to the tune of "Makin' Whoopee!" and we later recorded it for them.

The Marianne Kent Band played for George Shultz's 85th birthday in Stanford and again in 2009, for his 89th at Louise Davies Symphony Hall, sharing the bill with the "President's Own U.S. Marine Band!"

The Bob Stiff Quartet played for Jack and Sally's wedding in May, 2009 at The Sequoias, Portola Valley. The happy couple, both in their 80s, and their 200+ guests "danced up a storm!"

The Marianne Kent Band  played a "Hooray for Hollywood!" party last Spring at Diablo Country Club--the seniors sang and danced to the fabulous songs of the Golden Years of Hollywood movies.

This glorious trend of seniors having fun with music, parties and dancing is reaching its Tipping Point!  Even television is catching up with the debut in April of a new reality show: "Sunset Daze!"
